www.myisic.co.uk is operated by Student Discount Cards Limited based in London. Student Discount Cards Limited are committed to protecting the privacy of its users while using the site.

 

1 ACCESS

 

We will provide you with access to the Website in accordance with these Conditions.

 

2 YOUR OBLIGATIONS

 

2.1 You:

 

2.1.1 agree not to use the Website (or any part of) for any illegal purpose and agree to use it in accordance with all relevant laws;

 

2.1.2 agree not to upload or transmit through the Website any computer viruses, macro viruses, trojan horses, worms or anything else designed to interfere with, interrupt or disrupt the normal operating procedures of a computer;

 

2.1.3 will not upload or transmit through the Website any material which is defamatory, offensive, or of an obscene or menacing character, or that may cause annoyance, inconvenience or needless anxiety;

 

2.1.4 will not use the Website in a way that may cause the Website to be interrupted, damaged, rendered less efficient or such that the effectiveness or functionality of the Website is in any way impaired;

 

2.1.5 will not use the Website in any manner which violates or infringes the rights of any person, firm or company (including, but not limited to, rights of intellectual property, rights of confidentiality or rights of privacy);

 

2.1.6 will not create and publish a hypertext link to any part of the Website or attempt any unauthorised access to any part or component of the Website; and

 

2.1.7 agree that in the event that you have any right, claim or action against any Users arising out of that User’s use of the Website, then you will pursue such right, claim or action independently of and without recourse to us.

 

3 INDEMNITY

 

3.1 You agree to be fully responsible for (and fully indemnify us against) all claims, liability, damages, losses, costs and expenses, including legal fees, suffered by us and arising out of any breach of the Conditions by you or any other liabilities arising out of your use of the Website, or the use by any other person accessing the Website using your PC or internet access account.

 

4 OUR RIGHTS

 

4.1 We reserve the right to:

 

4.1.1 modify or withdraw, temporarily or permanently, the Website (or any part of) with or without notice to you and you confirm that we shall not be liable to you or any third party for any modification to or withdrawal of the Website; and/or

 

4.1.2 change these Conditions from time to time, and your continued use of the Website (or any part of) following such change shall be deemed to be your acceptance of such change. It is your responsibility to check regularly to determine whether the Conditions have been changed. If you do not agree to any change to the Conditions then you must immediately stop using the Website.

 

4.2 We will use our reasonable endeavours to maintain the Website. The Website is subject to change from time to time. You will not be eligible for any compensation because you cannot use any part of the Website or because of a failure, suspension or withdrawal of all or part of the Website due to circumstances beyond our control.

In an attempt to provide increased value to our Users, we may provide links to other websites or resources. You acknowledge and agree that we are not responsible for the availability of such external sites or resources, and do not endorse and are not responsible or liable, directly or indirectly, for the privacy practices or the content (including misrepresentative or defamatory content) of such websites, including (without limitation) any advertising, products or other materials or services on or available from such websites or resources, nor for any damage, loss or offence caused or alleged to be caused by, or in connection with, the use of or reliance on any such content, goods or services available on such external sites or resources.

 

6 MONITORING

 

We have the right, but not the obligation, to monitor any activity and content associated with the Website. We may investigate any reported violation of these Conditions or complaints and take any action that we deem appropriate (which may include, but is not limited to, issuing warnings, suspending, terminating or attaching conditions to your access and/or removing any materials from the Website).

 

7 COMPETITIONS

 

7.1 If you register for any competitions offered via this Website, the competition rules set out in this Clause 7, together with any other specific entry instructions or rules posted on this Website by Student Discount Cards Ltd and these User Terms (together the “Competition Rules”), shall apply.

 

7.2 All competitions, promotions, prizes or other give-aways offered by a third party from this Website (“Competitions”) are only open to individuals who are registered on the Website.

 

7.3 All Entrants must register for the relevant Competitions by giving their correct name and email address. By registering for the relevant Competitions, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to the provisions contained within these Terms and Conditions.

 

7.4 For the purposes of the Data Protection Act 1998, you acknowledge that in the course of entering a Competition on this Website, certain personal information or data about you will be captured electronically or otherwise and transmitted to Student Discount Cards Ltd by entering into any Competition, you expressly agree to transfer such personal information or data to Student Discount Cards Ltd to use, store and process the personal information for the purposes of such Competition on this Website. Please check our privacy policy and refer to the registration page for your right to opt out of receiving information from Student Discount Cards Ltd.

 

7.5 By registering for any Competitions, agree to the use of your name and photographs for publicity material in any Student Discount Cards Ltd publications in any media, including allowing your name to be published on the Website if you are a prize winner.

 

7.6 Unless specifically stated, no purchase is necessary to enter any competitions on the Website.

 

7.7 Prizes are as stated in the Competitions’ details on the Website.

 

7.8 Student Discount Cards Ltd will not offer cash alternatives in whole or in part for any prizes offered.

 

7.9 An Entrant may only win one prize per Competition. Entries to any competitions are limited to one per individual.

 

7.10 All entries become the absolute property of Student Discount Cards Ltd and will not be returned to Entrants unless otherwise stated by Student Discount Cards Ltd on the Website.

 

7.11 Fraudulent, illegible, multiple or incorrectly completed entries will be disqualified and no responsibility can be accepted by Student Discount Cards Ltd for any delayed, lost or misplaced entries. Proof of winners’ eligibility to enter the prize draw may be required.

 

7.12 Prizes are allocated randomly from correct entries received unless otherwise stated on the Website. The Judge’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

 

7.13 Student Discount Cards Ltd reserves the right without notice to you, to remove any Competitions from the Website or to suspend or alter any Competitions on the Website, at its sole discretion for legal or technical reasons. Student Discount Cards Ltd will give Entrants as much notice as possible prior to taking any of the actions described in this clause by posting such notice to the Website, but prior notice may not always be feasible.

 

7.5.14 Competitions are run subject to English law. Student Discount Cards Ltd makes no representation that the Competitions comply with the law of any other country other than the United Kingdom or that any prizes offered in Competitions are appropriate for use, or are legally able to be offered, in any other country. Those who choose to enter any Competitions on the Website are solely responsible for compliance with local laws and regulations if and to the extent they are applicable.

 

7.15 Any time of delivery is an estimate only in respect of the delivery to an Entrant of any prize in any Competitions and Student Discount Cards Ltd shall not be liable for any late delivery of the prizes or any loss or damage caused as a result.

 

7.16 Attempts will be made to notify competition winners by Email within twenty working days of the individual competition closing date given on the Website. The winners will be expected to reply with confirmation of their full address. Where winners cannot be contacted by Email, attempts will be made to contact them by mobile phone instead. It is therefore imperative that you accurately submit and maintain your personal details on the Website. On confirming their full address, Student Discount Cards Ltd will then inform the winners on how and when to claim their prize.

 

7.5.17 Although every effort will be made to supply the prizes stated, Student Discount Cards Ltd cannot guarantee that the particular prizes will be available and an equivalent prize may therefore be offered by Student Discount Cards Ltd in such cases.

 

7.5.18 No responsibility can be accepted by Student Discount Cards Ltd for the quality and/or suitability of any prizes provided by third parties.

 

8 INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY AND RIGHT TO USE

 

8.1 You acknowledge and agree that all copyright, trademarks and all other intellectual property rights in all material or content supplied as part of the Website shall remain at all times vested in us or our licensors. You are permitted to use this material only as expressly authorised by us.

 

8.2 You acknowledge and agree that the material and content contained within the Website is made available for your personal non-commercial use only and that you may download such material and content onto only one computer hard drive for such purpose. Any other use of the material and content of the Website is strictly prohibited. You agree not to (and agree not to assist or facilitate any third party to) copy, reproduce, transmit, publish, display, distribute, commercially exploit or create derivative works of such material and content.

9.3 Unless specified in separate terms and conditions related to a particular product or service, we make no warranty that the Website or products or services offered on the Website whether by us or on our behalf (including free software downloads) will meet your requirements or will be uninterrupted, timely, secure or error-free, that defects will be corrected, or that the Website or the server that makes it available or products or services offered on the Website whether by us or on our behalf (including free software downloads) are free of viruses or bugs or are fully functional, accurate, or reliable. We will not be responsible or liable to you for any loss of content or material as a result of uploading to or downloading from the Website.

 

9.4 Notwithstanding any other provision in the Conditions, nothing shall limit your rights as a consumer under English law.

 

9.5 You acknowledge that we cannot guarantee and therefore shall not be in any way responsible for the security or privacy of the Website and any information provided to or taken from the Website by you.

 

9.6 We will not be liable in contract, tort or otherwise if you incur loss or damage connecting to the Website through a third party’s hyper-text link.

 

9.7 We will not be liable, in contract, tort (including, without limitation, negligence), pre-contract or other representations (other than fraudulent misrepresentations) or otherwise out of or in connection with the Website or products or services offered on the Website whether by us or on our behalf (including free software downloads) for:

 

9.7.1 any economic losses (including without limitation loss of revenues, profits, contracts, business or anticipated savings); or

10 SEVERANCE

 

If any part of the Conditions shall be deemed unlawful, void or for any reason unenforceable, then that provision shall be deemed to be severable from these Conditions and shall not effect the validity and enforceability of any of the remaining provisions of the Conditions.

 

11 WAIVER

 

Nothing shall be construed as a waiver by us of any preceding or succeeding breach of any provision.

 

12 SURVIVAL

 

Each provision of these Conditions shall be construed as separately applying and surviving even if for any reason one or other of those provisions is held to be inapplicable or unenforceable in any circumstances.

 

13 ENTIRE AGREEMENT

 

These Conditions (as amended from time to time) contain the entire agreement between you and us relating to the subject matter covered and supersede any previous agreements, arrangements, undertakings or proposals, written or oral, between you and us in relation to such matters. No oral explanation or oral information given by either of us shall alter the interpretation of these Conditions. You confirm that, in agreeing to accept these Conditions, you have not relied on any representation save insofar as the same has expressly been made a representation in these Conditions and you agree that you shall have no remedy in respect of any misrepresentation which has not become a term of these Conditions save that your agreement contained in this Clause shall not apply in respect of any fraudulent misrepresentation whether or not such has become a term of these Conditions.

 

14 LAW

 

The Conditions will be exclusively governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales whose Courts will have exclusive jurisdiction in any dispute, save that we have the right, at our sole discretion, to commence and pursue proceedings in alternative jurisdictions. The personal information you provide by submitting this form will be collected by Student Discount Cards Ltd who may (i) pass your details to certain third parties to assist them in analysing use of the Website and enabling them to contact you about products or services which may be of interest to you and (ii) use it in accordance with our privacy policy.

Terms and Conditions for online ordering

These Terms and Conditions apply to the purchase through an online ordering application for the dispensing of ISIC, IYTC or ITIC cards (hereinafter “Goods” or “Products”), operated by Student Discount Cards Limited, Priory House, 6 Wrights Lane, London, W8 6TA (hereinafter referred to as the “Seller”).

Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully. Your use of this Site constitutes acceptance of these Terms and Conditions, without your acceptance you will not be able to proceed with the ordering of Products. If you do not accept these Terms and Conditions then you may not use this Site. All contractual relationships between the Seller and the customer (hereinafter “Card Applicant”) are made in accordance with the laws of the United Kingdom.

 

I. Purchase Contract

The purchase contract, which is realized through the sale of goods, shall be confirmed by online orders and the dispensing of one or more of the products (ISIC/IYTC/ITIC). A confirmation is sent by electronic order form by sending a control email delivered to a specified email address.
Confirmation of the order granting permission to these business Conditions gives the Card Applicant’s consent to their contents.

 

II. Conditions for issuing ISIC/IYTC/ITIC cards – Section II

Eligibility is defined by the international rules for supplying ISIC/IYTC/ITIC ID cards set by the ISIC Association. The Card Applicant hereby declares that he/she satisfies the Conditions for issuing cards ordered, as specified in these general Terms and Conditions.

 

Card Ordering

Card Applicant eligibility constitutes meeting the following Conditions:

In the case of an ISIC application:

That the student is aged 12 years or over and is a bona fide full-time student engaged in Secondary School, College, or University education at a recognised education institution. Full time status is generally set by the educational institution, but the Seller’s decision on status is final.

In the case of an IYTC application:

That the Applicant is no more than 30 years of age when submitting their application, the latest day being the day before the Applicant turns 31.

In the case of an ITIC application:

That the teacher is in full-time employment at a recognised educational Institution.

 

Validity:

The validity of all card types is 12 months from date of application.

An identification document certifying the age of the Applicant (ID / passport – proof of age) which is part of the application form on the ISIC/IYTC/ITIC, is required. Any photograph or scan of an identification document must be legible.

Documentation must contain all of the following required elements: the Card Applicant’s name and surname, their date of birth and address, in addition to the proof of eligibility requirements.

Checking entitlement to ISIC/IYTC/ITIC cards:

The Seller reserves the right to control the application of the Card Applicant ordering the Product in accordance with the Conditions set forth in this Section II.

If on review of entitlement to any Product the Seller detects irregularities and / or inconsistencies between the order and documented evidence, or inconsistencies with the Applicant’s status, the Seller reserves the right to refuse the respective card application.

In the event that the Card Applicant provides misleading, false or otherwise contradictory information that could lead to an unauthorized card, the Seller is entitled to reimbursement of the costs associated with processing of orders.

 

III. Procedure for online ordering of Products

Ordering Procedure for the ISIC card:

  • The Card Applicant must fill in the institution in which they are currently a full time student.
  • The Card Applicant must then fill in their full name, mailing address (if selecting plastic card option), date of birth and email address. The Card Applicant must then upload a scanned identification document certifying the age of the Student – such as an ID card, Passport or Driver’s license.
  • The Card Applicant must upload a copy of their student card clearly stating ‘full time’, a scanned letter from the school/polytechnic/university or matriculation card or an application form signed and stamped by the principal or registrar of the school/Educational Institution, to confirm that the Applicant is a full-time student.
  • The Card Applicant must upload a scanned identification photo (max size 1000 KB).
  • To verify that the order has been completed the Card Applicant must agree to the Terms and Conditions and respond to one or two screening questions, which are used for internal research into the cards.

Ordering Procedure for the IYTC card:

The Card Applicant must fill in their full name, mailing address (if selecting plastic card option), date of birth and email address.

  • The Card Applicant must upload a scanned identification document certifying the age of the Applicant – ID / passport, drivers license (proof of age)
  • The Card Applicant must upload a scanned identification photo (max size 1000 KB).
  • To verify that the order has been completed the Applicant must agree to the Terms and Conditions and respond to one or two screening questions, which are used for internal research into the cards.

Ordering Procedure for the ITIC card:

  • The Card Applicant must fill in the institution in which they are currently a full time teacher.
  • The Card Applicant must then fill in their full name, mailing address (if selecting  plastic card option), date of birth and email address.
  • The Card Applicant must then upload a scanned identification document certifying the age of the Card Applicant – such as an ID card, Passport or Drivers license.
  • The Card Applicant must upload a scanned letter from the school/polytechnic/university signed and stamped by the principal or registrar of the school/Educational Institution, to confirm that the Applicant is a full-time Teacher or another document to clearly show full time teacher status at the named institution.
  • The Card Applicant must upload a scanned identification photo (max size 1000 KB).
  • To verify that the order has been completed the Card Applicant must agree to the Terms and Conditions and respond to one or two screening questions, which are used for internal research into the cards.

Card Applicants must check and confirm the electronic form has been completed correctly. Based on this confirmation the Card Applicant receives an automatically generated email (sent to the contact email address as stated by the Card Applicant) which requires the Card Applicant to reconfirm the order. By clicking on the link provided the Card Applicant will receive an additional email confirming that their order is complete.

 

IV. Order cancellation, withdrawal

Confirmed orders can be cancelled before dispatch by sending an e-mail addressed to information@myisic.com (for order cancellation, the Card Applicant must provide their full name, order number, date of birth).

If the Card Applicant leaves the process idle at any point before payment for more than 10 working days, the application will be considered as withdrawn.

Refunds will only be given if the card has not yet been printed, with an administration fee of $10 deducted. No refund is possible once the respective card is processed.

V. Conditions of delivery

For plastic card orders

From 1st March 2018 - Card orders will automatically be issued as virtual cards but the applicant has the option to add a plastic card to their order.

Correctly ordered ISIC/IYTC/ITIC cards will be sent to the Card Applicant within maximum 7 working days from the date of confirmation of application. The Seller is responsible for the goods until the dispatch to the Card Applicant.

For card orders prior to 01 March 2018 - The Applicant can choose 2nd class postage or 1st class postage for the delivery of their card. If the applicant chooses 1st class postage an additional £1 will be added to the cost of the card. Regular post is not trackable and mail that goes missing is not the responsibility of ISIC. 1st class postage is recommended.

For all plastic card orders - Applicants will be asked to provide an UK postal address for delivery of your card, we are not able to post cards overseas.

For virtual card orders

Customers with correctly ordered virtual ISIC/IYTC/ITIC cards will receive a confirmation email with  order details. ISIC will process and approve the application (or contact the applicant via email if further information is required). Once the virtual card application has been approved the customer will receive another email providing them with the card serial number.  This number can then  be used to access the virtual card via the ISIC App. It is the responsibility of the card applicant to download the app and sign up for an account, through which they can access their virtual card. 

 

VI. Payment Terms

The current purchase price for ISIC, IYTC and ITIC cards is £12. From 1st March 2018 cards will be issued as virtual cards (£12) and applicants will have the option to add a plastic card to their order.

Payment is due in full prior to dispatch.

Payment is by paypal, credit card or debit card only.  Diners Club and American Express are not accepted.

Card Applicants must ensure they have correctly completed all the sections of the online application form as, in the case of an error being made there will be no refunds, therefore, if a new card is required, it will need to be purchased again through the normal procedure.

 

VII. Warranty and Claims

The warranty begins on the day of receipt of the product by cardholder. The card is warranted for the duration of the expiry printed on the card. The Seller is responsible for all product defects, on receipt by the cardholder or that appear during the warranty period. Defects caused by rough handling or mechanical damage shall remain the responsibility of the cardholder. A complaint can be exercised only in writing by sending an email to the above-mentioned contact address of the Seller. The Complaint Protocol (confirmation that the buyer has the right to apply, the contents of the claim, what manner of handling complaints and terms for the settlement of the claim) is sent to the Applicant by e-mail immediately after receipt of the complaint.

Claims, including defects, will be resolved without delay, within 14 calendar days from the date of claim, unless the Seller and the student agree otherwise.

 

VIII. Consent to the processing of personal data and sending commercial communications by e-mail:

The Applicant hereby gives consent, to the processing of my personal data to the extent specified in the order form and in a scanned copy of the request for a card, including photographs and copies of ID card or other identification card, for verification purposes (i.e. age verification on the Applicant’s age to 30 years of age or full-time status of both a student or a teacher in any case, which is a prerequisite for drawing discounts and benefits), for the purpose of carrying out orders and delivery of cards ordered, orders for archival purposes, and for accounting, audit, business and marketing purposes within the business and also for providing such personal data to third parties cooperating in providing discounts or benefits to holders of ISIC/IYTC/ITIC cards, or otherwise cooperating with the authorities to provide such discounts or benefits, for verification, registration, inspection, sales and marketing purposes associated with the provision of discounts and benefits to holders of ISIC/IYTC/ITIC cards, or for the purpose of monitoring compliance with Conditions of cooperation between administrations and third parties in connection with the provision of discounts and benefits to holders of ISIC/IYTC/ITIC cards, all for the duration of the purpose of processing personal data , i.e. for an indefinite period, including the period after the expiry of the ISIC/IYTC/ITIC cards. This consent can be withdrawn at any time by written notification to the Seller.

If the Applicant consents at time of application, further to impart consent to certain Information Society Services, as amended, administrators are allowed to the use the Applicant’s e-mail address for sending commercial communications relating to the benefits and services granted by the cards, and especially business communications relating to benefits and discounts for ISIC/IYTC/ITIC card holders, for cultural and promotional events organized to promote the use of these cards, offers from organizations cooperating with the authorities designated for holders of these cards (mobile operators, banks, discounts and benefits, etc.) . Permission to send commercial messages may be withdrawn at any time by written notification to the Seller.

The Applicant hereby understands and agrees that his/her personal data in the above-mentioned range, for the purpose above and beyond the above mentioned period can be processed by an authorized staff manager, possibly through cooperating third parties or external contractors processors and that his/her personal data will be centrally processed for the above verification purposes by ISIC/IYTC/ITIC Global Office (IGO), headquartered Store Kongensgade 40H, DK1264 Copenhagen K, Denmark, and business address Keizersgracht 174-176, 1016 DW Amsterdam, The Netherlands, which is a service company of the Danish NGO ISIC Association providing benefits and discounts for students, teachers and youth, and this purpose is disseminated and made accessible to third parties in countries with different legal regime of protection of personal data.

PRIVACY STATEMENT

  1. “Personal Data” is any data that identifies the Card Applicant or Card Holder. The Personal Data which is supplied to the Seller by the Card Applicants / Card holders is deemed to be true. The Seller will deal with the Card Applicant’s / Card holder’s Personal Data in compliance with the current United Kingdom data protection legislation. Please note this applies only to the Seller not to other companies’ or organisations’ websites to which the Seller may link with.
  2. Personal Data will be collected, processed and used by the Seller for the purposes of providing the Seller’s service to the Card Applicants / Card holders and the other purposes mentioned below. Personal Data may also be processed and used by such other organisations on the Seller’s behalf for the purpose of providing the Seller’s service to the Card Applicants / Card holders. The use of information will remain under the control of the Seller at all times.
  3. The Seller shall only send emails and text messages to the Card Applicants / Card holders about news services that the Seller considers may be of interest to The Card Applicants / Card holders only if the Card Applicants / Card holders have given the Seller permission to do so.
  4. The Seller may collect Personal Data about the Card Applicants / Card holders usage of the ISIC/IYTC/ITIC cards service in order to provide a better service to meet the Card Applicants / Card holders needs. However, the data will only be disclosed on an anonymous and aggregated basis not in a way in which the Card Applicants / Card holders will be identified.

 

IX. Final Provisions

The Card Applicant’s order after its confirmation performs the function of the purchase agreement entered into between the Card Applicant and the Seller and is filed for purposes of compliance and other records. The purchase contract will be made available to the Card Applicant upon request. Different technical steps to conclude the contract are completed in the order process by the Card Applicant and are also described above in Article III. The Card Applicant has the opportunity to detect and correct errors in data entry before submitting the order.

These business Conditions are valid from August 1st, 2015.
